High School 1st place: Molly Maynard, 11 “We Welcome You” 2nd place: Alexander Bradfield, 11 “Free Bird” 3rd place” Trinity Mousoulias, 11 “Here Come the Bullies” Junior High 1st place: Hailey Hitchens , 8 “Decisions, Decisions” 2nd place (tie): Mattie Swonger, 8 “Lightning” & Julie Parrish, 8 “Insanity” 3rd place: Melayna Rios “Windows to the Soul Young Adult Poetry Contest Winners April is National Poetry Month and for the past 13 years, the Rossford Library has held a poetry and lyric writing contest for students in Junior High and High School. Local published poet Yolanda Szuch has judged the entries for several years and generously contributes to the award fund stating that she loves to encourage young poets in their creativity. The prize awards and poetry reading ceremony will take place on Monday, May 8th at 6 :00 p.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate our local students and their creative writing. The winning poems will be pub- lished in the Rossford Record Jour- nal and will also be available on our webpage.
